'I am fortunate to live in a very scenic and very private part of County Waterford, near the picturesque village of Stradbally, but with a view of the popular Mahon Falls!
My home office is 2 miles from the N25, the main Waterford to Cork road.
My clients, many of whom travel from counties Waterford, Kilkenny, South Tipperary and east Cork, frequently tell me they find the scenery as therapeutic as their counselling sessions.
I believe them!
My interest in trauma has led me to an in-depth study of reality, cognitive behaviour and brief focused therapies as well as the study of content free therapies based on the bodies response to stress, shock and trauma.
I provide a confidential, non-judgemental, comprehensive counselling service for individuals and groups.
I deal with a wide range of issues - including anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, trauma and trauma related issues.
I work with individuals, groups, employees and employers, providing a comprehensive service in dealing with critical incidences, Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISD) and Critical Incidence Stress Management (CISM).
These incidences include muggings, assault, car accidents, brief or sustained physical or sexual abuse, as well as the trauma experienced by family survivors of suicide or homicide.
I am an experienced and accredited counsellor and supervisor of counselling and psychotherapy with the IACP, The Irish Association of Counsellors.
As well as one-to-one counselling I supervise the work of many groups and individuals of varying orientations.
I also attend personal supervision regularly in accordance with the code of ethics of the IACP and supervision training with the SAI Supervisor’s Association of Ireland.'
